What is your role at Catch?
Finance & Operations Director/Co-Owner.
What are your credentials/past experience for working in your position?
I’ve worked in the Catch Group of companies for the past 21 years.
I have an ERP/Programming background, starting life as an ERP user, getting involved with a JBA implementation then retraining as an Analyst/Programmer when I realised that I enjoyed that kind of thing!
I moved to SBA (Catch’s then sister company) to continue that work (working with large organisations such as Coty on their ERP challenges) and then ended up with Catch when its operations needed dedicated resource. Over the years I took on additional finance responsibilities, finally ending up in the position I hold now and being part of the management buyout a couple of years ago.
What are the values that drive you?
Honesty – do everything honestly and to the best of your ability and you will worry less and achieve more; Perseverance – don’t give up, there’s always a solution which might also mean you need to use your; Creativity – always be creative, you can add value to most things when you think outside of the box; Hard work – there’s nothing wrong with good, old fashioned hard work, yes, you need to find a good balance but working hard gets results!
Best aspect about working at Catch?
The people! We have a great internal team and I’m proud of what everyone achieves and that those achievements mean that we get to work with other great people (candidates, contractors and clients alike). I’m proud that we’ve created a great working atmosphere where people can succeed and know that they are valued.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
Being outdoors and hiding from my teenagers! I’m a runner (albeit a slow one) who loves endurance events; marathons and ultras – I can often be found as ‘sweeper’ (the appointed last runner at a race) which means I get the absolute pleasure of helping others to achieve their long-distance running goals. I also cycle (also slowly), paddleboard and spend as much time as possible in my garden – either gardening or sitting in my swing seat, admiring the view with a glass of something cold in hand!
