BI & Data Architect

Permanent Home based with European travel £70,000 - £80,000 per annum

Our global end user client are looking for a BI & Data Architect to join their EMEA team. The role will be largely home based, with travel to meet project teams based in the UK and also within Europe (around 25% of the time). The winning candidate will have at least 5 years’ of proven Data Warehouse and BI design and development experience in a Senior/Lead Developer role.

Key Skills:

  • General understanding of Data Warehouse and BI principles and their best practises
  • Proven Data Warehouse and BI design and development experience (5 years+) as a lead developer and designer in charge multiple software projects
  • BI experience of AX versions 2009 and 2012 or higher
  • Expert knowledge of: Microsoft SQL Development tools, Microsoft BI Application stack (SSAS, SSRS), AX Application stack (AOS, SSIS), Microsoft Server platform (Windows and Active Directory) and Microsoft SharePoint, Power View, Power Pivot
  • Experience of implementing BI and Data Warehouse in other ERP systems
  • Business requirements analysis
  • Understanding of Dynamics AX architecture
  • Knowledge of table structures for relevant modules

Main Duties

  • Harmonize the business requirements during the Analysis phase with EMEA BI Solution
  • Technical Work stream documentation
  • Participate in relevant focus groups and process owner network meetings and workshops
  • EMEA BI policy documentation
  • Appropriate Security implementation for the Data Warehouse and BI Solution
  • Advise on best practice within the Data Warehouse and BI solution
  • Definition of BI policies
  • Conduct or facilitate functional workshops
  • Liaise with external service providers on issues relevant to the work stream
  • Help coordinate cross-functional requirements
  • Assist in design and review of change requests
  • Provide 3rd line support to business users
  • Assist with root cause investigations and problem management resolution
  • Facilitate the change management process for requirements within the work stream
  • Participate in Business Process Owners Network for relevant area(s) of expertise
