Azure Infrastructure Support Engineer

Permanent Peterborough £40,000 - 50,000 per annum + package

Our Large End User client are actively looking for an Azure Infrastructure Support Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced, exciting organisation offering good salaries and careers.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the reference point for any questions concerning Azure Infrastructure used by the different Business Units and participate in projects as/when required
  • Assist in the definition of new project scope and objectives and ensuring that all Infrastructure are implemented successfully and according to project plan
  • Provide user training and creation of training materials
  • Meet and exceed customer expectations of business knowledge, skills and behaviour
  • Identify business/project risk and mitigate or communicate as necessary
  • Day to day support and maintenance of Azure: User support, Azure platform & project related tasks
  • Communicate progress updates to relevant parties both formally and informally
  • Analysis and design of specific business requirements
  • Customize and specifications of developments
  • Plan and assist in the implementation of new software
  • Monitor existing software, systems participate in updates
  • Execute a wide range of tasks in line with agreed software support methodology
  • Own issues; drive and address open questions and follow-ups until clarified and resolved
  • Support deployment to enable efficient and accurate implementations
  • Develop specialist knowledge in relevant technologies and apply expertise and knowledge to deliver effective solutions
  • Share expertise and provide technical advice, guidance and mentoring to others as required
  • Implement standard global processes, tools, metrics, measurement, and reporting
  • Identify opportunities for improvement

Skills/Experience:

  • Hands on experience of managing and supporting Azure system, services including Azure Active Directory, subscriptions, resource groups, VM, Storage, VNet’s, Data Protection and restore, Traffic management, Security and Governance
  • Technical knowledge of, Active Directory, Azure AD practical experience of managing these with PowerShell
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and investigate solutions
  • Willingness to support all areas of the IT services user base as required
  • Excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a small team
  • Migrating systems and services from an on-premise solution to a cloud hosted solution
  • Supporting / implementing BYOD strategies and managing devices through Intune
