Our large end-user client is actively looking for a D365 F&O Support Analyst to join their existing support team. This is a great opportunity to work for a fast-paced and exciting organisation with fantastic opportunities to grow and develop your career within D365.


The client is based in Edinburgh however you can expect to work remotely, with a couple of days once a month in the office.


Key Skills & Experience


  • Suitable degree and or post-graduate qualification in computer science or related field.
  • Demonstratable proven experience as a Microsoft ERP analyst.
  • In-depth knowledge of Dynamics 365 F&O or Dynamics 365 Business Central or AX or NAV.
  • Knowledge of design, configuration, and implementation methodologies within an application development lifecycle.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with experience of working in an agile environment.
  • Strong communication skills both combined with the ability to write clear & concise interpretations of complex sets of data and processes.
  • Excellent self-motivation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop relationships across professional and organisational boundaries and encourage participation and knowledge sharing with other stakeholders.
  • Experience in maintaining full system & process documentation.



  • A technical understanding of using cloud environments such as Azure and/or Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience working within financial services or a finance department.
  • Knowledge of Extract, Transform & Load processes (ETL), and tools.
  • Technical knowledge of relational databases.
  • Experience working with and managing contractors and 3rd party providers.
  • Knowledge and experience in finance and payroll systems.
  • Expertise in Microsoft’s Power Platform in support of reporting and analytics outputs.
  • Expertise with visualisation tools such as Microsoft Visio, Power BI, Crystal Reporting etc.
  • Demonstrate experience with Microsoft (Dynamics) Software As A Service environments.
  • Familiarity with PCI-DSS and GDPR data protection & regulations.
  • Knowledge of Retail and eCommerce systems.



  • Provide subject matter expertise in Microsoft Dynamics F&O and own the application/service lifecycle: design, build, test and run by working closely with Business stakeholders and the company’s service partners to ensure the programme of changes is delivered alongside the continual ongoing updates made by Microsoft to the service.
  • Stakeholder management will include the Finance department, C&C department, the People department, the integration partners and the Microsoft Account Team. It is expected that the role will be given the remit to explore and establish new relationships in support and delivery of the service with other internal and 3rd parties as and when required.
  • The platforms are services provided by Microsoft and are under continual regular upgrades and code changes. All of these need to be considered, managed and tested against the current existing customised configuration. Therefore, the service and configuration need to be owned and carefully managed, hence the need to provide a dedicated resource to fulfil this complex and critical function.
  • Deputise for the Apps Manager when required with responsibility for managing the company portfolio of corporate applications and their change roadmaps.
  • Manage changes to the system including facilitating the gathering of User requirements for the development of the system. The role will apply detailed functional knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and financial processes to bring continual improvement to the platform and act as the company’s subject matter expert for Dynamics. They will provide the focus and ownership of change management to minimise disruption and maximise productivity. Their remit will be to challenge the status quo in favour of continuous improvement and the cost-effective use of the Dynamics service.
  • Using their knowledge and expertise, they will undertake the mapping of business processes and the analysis of workflow within the application, making recommendations to the Finance department as to the best solution to meet their needs while managing the complexity and cost of operating the platform. This will include managing new and existing interfaces with other key applications so that successful, wholistic, value-added solutions can be realised.
  • Create and maintain test scripts and test execution plans for all system upgrades and major changes to the system.
  • Own the management of bug fixes throughout all test phases up to and including post-go-live support and Business as usual operations.
  • Monitor application performance and database size and take proactive measures to maintain the health of the system.
  • Track licensing and usage costs and regularly report the position to the IT Management team.
  • Employ best practices to identify process and efficiency gains and challenge current Business thinking of the design/configuration of Dynamics as part of a continual process improvement approach.
